The Faience Museum shows the history and production of the Egersunds Faience Factory which was established in 1847 by Johan Feyer. The factory was operating until 1979, then it was closed down after 132 years of production. The Folk Museum of Dalane acquired the collection of older and newer stoneware, moulds, engraved copper plates, pattern drawings and the archive. This collection is the foundation of today’s exhibition.
The museum is located in the old factory building in the centre of Egersund,
now converted to a shopping centre. Address: Fabrikkgaten 2. Open daily from
the middle of June until middle of August, at other times of the year from
Wednesday to Sunday, or by appointment.
