Eikefjord
Eikefjord is an idyllic village in the municipality of Kinn. Eikefjord is located 20 minutes by car from Florø, and 30 minutes from Førde. On summer days a visit to the beach in the centre of Eikefjord is a popular excursion for families. In Eikefjord you will also find a grocery shop, gas station, hairdresser and more.
AusevikaAusevika, one of the largest rock carving sites in Norway, is located a 10 minutes drive from Eikefjord. Here you will find over 3000 year old figures. The whole area is newly renovated with ramps, signs in Norwegian, English and German and toilet facilities. The rock carvings can be visited every day.
Eikefjord is a great starting point if you want to go walking or hiking. A walk to Eikefjordstølen (390 masl) is a popular trip when walking with children. You get great views over Eikefjord and the fjord landscape. You can walk further west to Hovlandstølen, and back to Eikefjord down a gravel road. This takes about 3 hours. If you want a longer hike you can head to Blånipa (1021 masl). This hike takes about 3 hours each way from Eikefjord.
ACCOMMOATIONIf you want to stay overnight in Eikefjord, you will find Stavang Rorbuer in Stavang. Here you can rent cabins in a cozy sea house environment. Stavang is surrounded by beautiful archipelagos, with good sun conditions and with a fantastic sea view. Stavang is approximately 20 minutes from Eikefjord.
