Experience the Cultural Heritage of Åkrafjorden - a fjord landscape inaccessible by road. An exiting boat trip and tractor safari brings you to a place you would never think it was possible to live. Enjoy mountain farm life complete with goates, summer pastures and the people who live here in surroundings of stunning natural beauty. And visit one of the worlds most beautiful waterfalls at the return.
The trip commences by boat from Teigland (Åkrafjordtunet) over to the pier at Bakka. On the north side of the fjordyou will be transported from the boat with tractor and passenger trailer. The tour sneaks up the steep gravel track to where the landscape opens out and we visit the charming Eikemo farm accompanied by entertaining guiding. A second trip in the passenger hanger brings us to the Eikemo Mountain Farm with its historic houses, new barn and lack of mobile phone coverage. Together with the farmer you can visit the friendly goats or just feel the peaceful landscape. Bring your own lunch and enjoy it outdoor or inside the wooden lavvo together with a cup of coffe boiled over open fire.
Coffee prepared on open fire and homemade "lefse" will be served. After a break you return to the boat by tractor or by foot.
Remember to take jogging shoes/hiking boots/boots, lunch and dress according to the climate.
The tour takes place on special request or registration of at least 10 persons.
