Over 1.5 million buns sold annually

Norway’s most famous buns

For many, Bolleland is a mandatory stop along the E6. The Shell Service Station, located at Espa in Stange municipality, sells over 1.5 million Espa buns annually. At maximum capacity, 2 000 buns go through the ovens per hour.

The “bun adventure” started in 1999, with 18 000 buns sold. In 2006, the Norwegian national TV ran a story about the Espa buns, and the following day sales increased by almost 100 percent. Since then, Bolleland has featured in numerous articles and newspapers, and has become an attraction in its own right.

Other local products, such as cheese, honey, jam, juice and cured sausages, are also available.
