Exclusive guided mountain hike from Fløyen to Øvre-Eide Farm including lunch

The journey starts outside Fløibanen funicular (bottom station) - the city’s most popular tourist attraction, that takes us 320 meters up to Mount Fløyen. This is one of the most spectacular city views in Norway! Here you can admire the beautiful landscape of the city and the fjords from above. The next part of the trip takes us into the magical Norwegian nature. There are beautiful lakes, wild rivers and breathtaking views to take in. We stop at the top of Mount Sandviken to snack on some traditional Norwegian chocolate, before descending into the valley of the old mail route between Trondheim and Bergen. 

We end the trip in beautiful surroundings at our farm Øvre-Eide, a unique place nestled in historical surroundings. We are a family-run farm with roots and buildings back to 1540, and accommodate guests from all over the world. In this historic place immersed in Nordic nature, family and staff will be delighted to welcome you to discover the day by day of a traditional farm, and you will meet some of our beautiful animals, such as Spel-sheep and Fjord Horses. The owner is a pastry chef and will prepare some typical Norwegian specialties for you upon arrival.

MENU
Natural juices made of fruits from Hardangerfjord.
Cured meat and “Rømmegrøt” - a porridge made of sour cream, and served with sugar, cinnamon and raisins.
Traditional Norwegian “lefse”.
Homemade macaroons made of almonds, dipped in chocolate.
Coffee and tea.

Please inform us by 10:00 the day before the tour of any guests with allergies and intolerances.

DURATION AND DIFFICULT LEVEL
The total duration of the excursion (incl. the meal at our farm) is 6 hours.
Active walking is approximately 4 hours (the road is approx. 9 km long). There are no paths but gravel roads all the way.
This hike is not difficult, but requires good phisical condition.

DEPARTURE TIME:
We recommend starting the tour either at 09:00 or 10:00. However, we are flexible to suit your needs.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Please dress according to the weather. Note that Bergen weather can change rapidly, thus it is useful to carry a light rain jacket and a warm sweater even though the sun shines. We will provide you with water and chocolate for the tour.

MEETING POINT
We meet at the Fløibanen funicular unless something else has been arranged. The guide will arrange tickets for the funicular. (inluded in the price).

AGE LIMITS
Recommended from 10 years old. The important thing is not the age, but that the participant evaluates his/her own phisical capacity.

PRICES AND CONDITIONS

Price for 1-4 people: NOK 8,000 incl. VAT.
Price per extra person up to 8 people: NOK 900.
Children half price.

Groups of 9 people or more, prices on request.

Transportation from the farm, back to the hotel/port:
Cost in not included in the price. However we can assist you in booking a bus/taxi. Driving time approx. 5-10 minutes from the farm to the port/city center.

Pick up service: Our guide picks you up at the hotel/port before the tour, and also escorts you back to the hotel/port after the tour. Private transport (or public if desired). 

Last update regarding the final number of participants must be provided within 15:00 the day before the tour. In a situation where more guests than agreed attend, we will charge for the actual number of people attending, although not fewer than what was confirmed the day prior to the visit.

Payment by card at the farm, or by invoice. Payment due date is 10 days after the date of invoice. After the deadline, interest will be added, cohering with current interest rates. Billing fee NOK 125 incl. VAT.

Cancellations with a full refund is possible 7 days before the tour. Cancellations after this will be charged with minimum price of NOK 8000 incl. VAT.
