Røros Museum opens an exhibition by local sculptor Per Sverre Dahl where he explores a dark side of mining history; child labor and tough working conditions for miners.
Per Sverre Dahl is a sculptor with his own workshop at the Dahl Farm in Mørkstugata in Røros. He is renowned for his characteristic models of both real and fictional people. With this exhibition, he explores a dark side of mining history, dealing with child labor and tough conditions for the miners.
The exhibition consists of ten different tableaus where the body's body language tells of a brutal reality. We also present historical material that shows the extent of child labor in the mines in the Røros area.
Røros Museum Smelthytta June 10 at 12.00. Free entrance to the exhibition opening.
