On Friday, 31. July, SDS Hansteen departs from the quay in Trondheim and embarks on a four-day voyage in the inner Trondheimsfjord. The historic ship will call at Frosta, Levanger, Ytterøy, Mosvik, Sundneshavn (Inderøy), Steinkjer and Leksvik before arriving back at its home port of Trondheim on the evening of Sunday, 9. August.(Hansteen will be at the port in Steinkjer between Sunday 2. - Sunday 9. August)
SDS Hansteen, the world's oldest sailing steam ship is still in use, dates from 1866 and has a history as a research ship, a royal yacht, a ferry on the Trondheimsfjorden and in Helgeland and as a hospital ship in Oslo. The ship is now fully restored to its former glory. The ship calls at old, restored quays steeped in history. At each port of call and on board, the passengers and visitors will encounter tableaux, music and much more about the villages and culture life connected to this ship's traffic.
