Experience an easy walk with a great view from Fjellveien

Join us on an easy, but great walk in Fjellveien, where you get to experience the great view over Bergen - Fjellveien is one of the locals favourite walks.

The walk starts outside the Bergen Tourist office at Strandkaien, next to the Fish market. We start by taking a local bus to Munkebotn, where our walk starts. The first part is a little steep, but after 100 meters we will reach the idyllic dirt road which is the start of the so called Fjellveien. This is a lovely little road that winds between beautiful trees, small streams, and with a view over Bergen harbour and the fjord that is absolutely fantastic.

It is very rare that tourists notice this little gem. At the start of the tour, we pass the idyllic Sandviken, which is a neighbourhood in Bergen consisting of charming white small wooden houses. When we get to the train tracks to the "Fløybanen", we start our descent down the charming stairs towards the city centre. Many narrow streets and lovely wooden houses are located in this area

Our hike ends at the same place where we started, outside the Bergen Tourist office.

Length and distance of the walk: This walk takes about 1.5-2 hours including public transportation. The walking distance is 4 kilometers.

Required experience: Reasonable standard of fitness required. Hiking shoes or similar needed

Age: The minimum recommended age for this walk is 5 years old. Children below 15 years of age together with an adult only pay for their bus ticket.
