This trip goes from Haugesund to Leirvik at Stord Island, which is the regional center in Sunnhordland, a region described as fresh, genuine and exciting, with a return to Haugesund.

Between Haugesund city center and Leirvik town center, there is a beautiful drive through Sveio, crossing a spectacular suspension bridge over the Digernessundet with great views to Siggjo and the entrance to the Sunnhordlands basin.

In Leirvik you can wander around in a charming center with exciting shops, cafes, restaurants, art gallery and museum.

If you want to walk to the top of Siggjo you can take bus no. 800 from Stord City hall to Stokka in Siggjarvåg. Siggjo has always been an important sailing mark visible from long distances.  The mountain is a popular walk destination. Thousands of people visit Siggjo every year. Read more about Siggjo here.

From Leirvik center you can take a boat to Sunde, Rubbestadneset or Skånevik.

Note! Bus to Stokka or boat to Sunde, Rubbestadneset or Skånevik is not included in this Travel like the locals trip. Tickets must be purchased separately. (Can be purchased on the bus/boat.)

After a day with adventurous experiences in Sunnhordland you return to Haugesund by bus.

Departure from: Haugesund bus terminal/Flotmyr terminal, track 3

This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.)

Trips are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas due to deviations in the timetables. The timetable shown is valid for the periods when the trip is bookable.
