Ålesund – Sykkylven – Ålesund With travel time of an hour, you join the bus from Ålesund by the coast to Sykkylven right in the heart of the well known Sunnmørsalpene, surrounded by fjords and mountains.
The furniture capital of Norway In the center of Aure you can visit Møbelmuseet (furniture museum), which presents an outstanding entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of furniture over several years, with the display of many well known design models. At the Nature museum, located next door, among the local animals and birds you can see the wolf that was shot in Sykkylven in 2014 after killing many sheep in the area.
If you head out towards Hundeidvik you can visit Galleri Cylindra, where Peter Opsvik`s furniture objects are produced. Opsvik is perhaps best known for the popular Tripp-trapp chair, but here you can see furniture, art and nature in a wonderful composition.
Amazing view from Fagrefjellet and historical ground on Auremarka We recommend a tasty lunch at one of Sykkylven`s cafes and restaurants, and if you want to be active, a bike trip up to Fagrefjellet is a great trip 6,5 kilometers up to the viewpoint, where you get a fantastic view of alpine mountains and the fjord all the way to Ålesund.
With archaeological findings dating back to the bronze age, Auremarka is a treasure trove for those interested in history. Here you'll see traces of a traditional long house of 56 meters.
