The banqueting hall, built in 1295, is a national monument and Norway's oldest wooden non- ecclesiastical building. The wooden building dates from the same time period as the Stave churches. They also share many construction and design elements, however Finnesloftet served a very different purpose. The building is a medieval hall – the only one of its kind that is still standing.
Finnesloftet is situated along the road Finnesvegen, approximately 15 minutes on foot from Voss town centre, west of Voss Railway Station.
