Bø and Mid-Telemark has variety of places well suitable for fishing, whether you are looking for mountain lakes, forest rivers or something in between.

Everybody over 16 years needs a fishing permit to fish in the area, while children under 16 years can fish for free. Fishing permits are for sale at Brukås Sport in Bø, Bøgata 56, tel. +47 35 95 06 17. 

Lifjell
Lifjell is Mid-Telemark's mountain area, with many lakes that are good for fishing trout. 

Bøelva 
The river runs from Seljordsvannet and down to Norsjø. The river is good for fishing trout and whitefish. From June 1st to September 30th you can also try to catch both salmon and seatrout, in the area from Oterholtfossen to Norsjø. In the lowermost part of the river you might be able to find pike. The best fishing spots are around Herrefoss and Oterholtfossen.

Other places 
Seljordsvannet, Lake Norsjø, Heddalsvannet, Sauarelva and the Telemark Canal are rich with trout, perch, char, whitefish and pike. Fishing permist are available at different locations near these places.
