Experience real Lofoten fishing together with a genuine fisherman. You will come aboard his boat and will do your own fishing with a fishing rod or a fishing reel.
Chances of a catch are good in Lofoten as this is a very rich fishing area. The fisherman, Mr. Jim-Inge Pedersen has been active as a fisher since 1994 and he knows the waters around Lofoten as his own back pocket. This means that he most often will find a place where catches are good. His vessel, “MK Børfjell” has a safe deck, sufficient fishing equipment and certified safety equipment for crew and passengers.
Capacity for each trip is 6 guests.
”MK Børfjell” operates with daily departures from Sund in Lofoten at 10:00 am from June 1st through July 31st. Reservation is necessary.
Price per person is NOK 700. The trip lasts around 3 hours.
Mr. Jim Inge Pedersen is glad to accommodate other bloat trips or arrangements upon specific request. Searching for sea eagle or experiencing the midnight sun from a boat deck are examples of such arrangements.
Make sure to wear sturdy footwear and warm clothes, regardless of season or general temperature. Being on the ocean is always colder than being on shore.
Onboard the vessel you will find different kind of fishing equipment. “MK Børfjell” is fully rigged to operate fishing with nets or longline angles during Lofoten seasonal cod fisheries in the winter. For tourist season the deck is cleared for safety purposes. If arrangements are made in advance, you can experience hauling of a set of longline in the traditional style. This will allow for a fantastic photo-opportunity. In such cases the longline needs to be prepared one day in advance of the actual fishing trip.
Mr. Jim Inge Pedersen offers coffee and tea onboard, and is happy to treat all guests to real life stories about his life as a fisherman, about catches, equipment or about being a local citizen of a fishing village in Lofoten.
