Fjøset was admittedly used as an outbuilding for the lock master residence at Strømsfoss locks. The cabin has been refurbished in 2014 and is of a high standard. The cottage has 6 beds, three of them on a spacious loft in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with what you need, including a dishwasher. Do and wash in the cabin, shower in the service building right by.
From the cabin you have a view of the locks and the lock environment that grew up around the operation of the facilities. Strømsfoss was previously a transport hub, where the road and the watercourse met. The small place Strømsfoss has, besides the locks, both a mill museum and an art gallery. Here you can experience a living environment from a bygone era.
By car it takes about an hour and a half from Oslo. Highway all the way to the cottage.
Halden Canal Company also has three other cottages in Halden Canal:
Flag cabin - Marker
Fløter cabin - Brekke locks
Smia - Skullerud
