Fjellfolket Hus - in the middle of Hattfjelldal
Experience the beautiful natural areas along the Wilderness Road starting from the mountain village of Hattfjelldal. At Fjellfolkets Hus, you’ll find accommodation, tourist information, a museum, and a handicraft shop, allowing you to be close to both nature and culture in this fantastic mountainous region.
Fjellfolkets Hus is located in the heart of Hattfjelldal town, close to the beautiful mountain and nature areas along Villmarksveien, with great opportunities for hunting, fishing, and nature experiences. In the house, you’ll also find local history about mountain people and Sami culture, in addition to several exhibitions. The area is also wonderful in winter, with 320 km of snowmobile trails (including guided tours), dog sledding trips, and ski touring.
Accommodation
The accommodation has six large double rooms with shower and toilet, as well as access to a shared kitchen, laundry room, and living room. The hotel is self-service and without a reception. When you book, you will receive a code for the room via SMS, allowing you to access it on your own. Please note that a dining option is just a few minutes’ walk away.
Charging Station and Motorhome Parking
Outside the house, there is a fast-charging station and two charging points for medium-speed electric vehicle charging. The charging station can serve all types of modern electric cars. Here, you’ll also find parking spaces for motorhomes with 8 power outlets, the option to fill water, and empty the toilet. There is also access to a shower/toilet. Rafting
At Trofors, about a 30-minute drive away, you’ll find the rafting company RiverNorth. Here, you can experience family rafting, full-day or half-day rafting on the Auster-Vefsna River, which runs all the way to Hattfjelldal
