Idyllic accommodation in Stange Vestbygd

Sleep well in Nordic Tuscany

Fjetre Gård is located in beautiful Stange Vestbygd, or the Tuscany of the North as VG described the area in an article in 2013. It is located 5 km south of Hamar and offers meeting/party rooms and accommodation. The hostess is a trained chef and can tempt you with colorful and short-travelled flavours.

The farm otherwise produces grain, potatoes and carrots. The buildings are from the 18th century, and the cottage has 12 beds in 6 rooms, with two single beds and a washbasin in each room, ideal for groups. There are bathrooms in the hallway on the first and second floors and lounges with lounges on both floors. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. The house has a fully equipped kitchen.

Skating history in the walls

The farm is known as the skating farm. Just before the war, and especially after, the farm was widely used as a training center for sports groups, among others the Dutch national ice skating team has lived here repeatedly. Skating legend Peter Sinnerud took his first skates in the rough courtyard at Fjetre, and a small curiosity is that today's Fjetre farmer and grandson of the skating legend, Sven Peter Sinnerud, has for decades been in charge of the ice in the Viking ship.

Atlungstad Golf as the nearest neighbour

Beautiful Atlungstad Golf - one of Norway's most beautiful golf facilities - is actually the closest neighbor to Fjetre. And not least the historic and year-round Atlungstad Brenneri, with tours, delicious food and, of course, an aquavit. Marked hiking and cycling trails as well as good bathing opportunities in Mjøsa are a welcome addition to a stay on the farm.
