This tour is conducted by Hermes II. Join on a genuin coastal experience on the beautifully restored boat Hermes II from 1917. You get to experience the islands around from the sea side, and often we get to see both eagles, seals and reindeers.
Feel the calm on board when we sail out of the harbor. Enjoy yourself on the deck and enjoy the nature around you. You will get a closer look at the islands near Tromsø from the sea side, while you get to hear about the exciting history of the boat and about the places we pass. There are also a lot of great photo opportunities along the entire route.
This cruise suites both local and visiting guests, whether you want to enjoy the boating experience and the surroundings, or if you are passionate about old boats and history.
The boat was built in 1917 and was originally a cargo boat for fish, coal, animals and building materials. Fishing for shrimp and capelin were later added. After many years of hard work, the boat was completely renovated from 2016 - 2019, making it a certified preservation project. In 2021, the work and dedication to preserving this boat was rewarded with the Tromsø Culture Community Award. Welcome to an amazing piece of Norwegian history!
During the trip we serve hot drinks (coffee, tea or chocolate) and a hot fish cake from Dragøy. Cold drinks for sale.
