Departure from: Stavanger & Sandnes
Duration: 8 hours
The bus starts in Stavanger/Sandnes and the first stop is Byrkjedalstunet, with idyllic houses in natural surroundings. The houses are built in the same style that were common in this area in the 1900-centuries - creating a visual journey back in time. Byrkjedalstunet has it’s own candle factory with a large variety of self-produced candles, souvenirs and local art.
The bus will drive through the valley of Sirdalen. The valley is about 90 kilometers long and is a great area for hiking and skiing in the winter. We get a brief stop at“The Eagle's Nest”, 600 meters above the Lysefjord. From here you have a spectacular view over the Lysefjord and the 27 hairpin bends down to the fjord. Each hairpin is horseshoe-shaped, turning 180 degrees and swing from the top of the mountain down to the fjord. From the Eagle's Nest the bus drives you down all the hairpin bends to fjord with arrival in charming Lysebotn.
From Lysebotn the tour continues with fjord cruise on the Lysefjord. A multilingual information system onboard guides you through all the attractions. Cruising along the fjord you can explore the majestic Kjerag, Flørli Powerplant with the world longest wooden staircase with a total of 4444 steps, and the beautiful Pulpit Rock.
You will cruise through wild nature and see waterfalls, mountain farms, the Fantahåla cave, small islands, goats, birds and seals.
The cruise ends in Lauvvik where the bus will return to Sandnes and Stavanger.
