Experience a journey through a landscape of majestic mountains, roaring waterfalls and idyllic orchards, on your way to the beautiful Queen of fjords
From an open deck catamaran, you can admire the natural beauty and breathtaking scenery that this area offers. Departing from the charming village of Norheimsund you should have your camera ready! You will journey through a landscape full of historic villages, waterfalls and idyllic orchards. In the distance, you will see Folgefonna glacier and national park, the third largest glacier in Norway. On this fjord tour, you should listen to the interesting commentary on board. You will hear lots of facts and history about the attractions along the way.
The beautiful village of Eidfjord is in the magnificent Hardangerfjord region. Here the boat will dock for three hours. Come with us on our popular sightseeing bus tour included in the price. You will get to visit the Norwegian Nature Centre, which is full of interactive exhibitions and has an aquarium. Next stop is the Vøringsfossen, which is Norway’s most famous waterfall!
We can’t even begin to tell you how many Instagram worthy moments there are on this trip! Make sure you fully charge your phone and camera the night before. You don’t want to miss a good photograph.
Norwegian Nature Centre
Interacitve stations and immersive exhibits focusing on culture, nature and the environment make up the attractions at the Norwegian Nature Centre in Hardanger. There is also a state of the art cinema showing a short movie by Norwegian filmmaker Ivo Caprino taking showcasing the unrivalled lanscape of the Norwegian fjords with mountains, lakes, glaciers and waterfalls.
Vøringsfossen
Vøringsfossen waterfall is a spectacular sight to behold. When the bus stops here you have the chance to make the short walk to the fenced viewing platform. As you make your way up, the landscape opens up before you. Once at the top, take a minute to really appreciate the view. Step forward (if you dare!) and watch the raging water hit the valley below. Read more about the famous waterfall here.
Hardangerfjord
If Sognefjord is the King of the fjords then Hardangerfjord is the Queen. Stretching for 179 km, it is the second largest fjord in Norway and the fourth largest in the world. Surrounded by towering cliffs, snow-capped mountains and blossoming fruit trees, this part of Norway is a masterpiece of nature.
