Join us on a scenic drive to beautiful Sommarøy, with photo stops, fjord crossings, and a delicious seaside lunch. The tour offers stunning views and the chance to spot reindeer in the wild — a trip suitable for everyone!
This tour is conducted by Tromsø Accessible Tours.
The tour starts at the meeting point in Tromsø city centre. From there, we will drive west, crossing the bridge that connects Tromsø to the majestic island of Kvaløya.
During this trip, we will cross three fjords and drive across the valley of Kattfjordeidet. There will be short stops to take photos and experience nature. Sometimes, we may see reindeer and other animals roaming freely.
The destination is the breathtaking island of Sommarøy, "the Summer Island." There, we will enjoy a warm lunch at the Sommarøy Arctic Hotel.
On the return journey, we will take the road along the southeast coast of Kvaløya. During this drive, we can enjoy views of the Sund and the mountains of Malangen.
The tour concludes at our original meeting point in Tromsø city centre after approximately five hours.

Availability period: This Fjord Tour by Tromsø Accessible Tours is available during the period 1st October 2024 to 30th April 2026.

Please bring: Dress for very cold weather and any specific items that would improve your experience, like mittens, gloves and scarf.

Level of difficulty: Easy, suitable for everyone. Caution is advised due to icy and snowy conditions.
Age limit:There is no age limit to participate, but for very small children, we require advance notice.
Departure time and place: At 10:00 AM (10:00) from Scandic Ishavshotel (Fredrik Langes gate 2, 9008 Tromsø). Note!: The departure time can vary depending on certain conditions. Please check the time in the calendar before booking.
