This is a full day tour which starts and ends in Flåm, where we will provide you with all the necessary gear for a safe and comfortable experience on the fjords. This includes floatation suit, life vest, hat, gloves, and goggles. We use open RIB boats and get close to small villages and waterfalls along the way. Once we arrive to the village of Frønningen we drive by car to 500 meters above sea level, where we will try and spot some of the animals living in the surrounding woods. The group will be divided in two, with one group going with dogcarting or dogsledding while the other group will go on a beautiful hike around Frønningen (snowshoes will be provided as required, depending on snow conditions).
Dogtour: When we get to the kennel, we can provide overalls to wear on top of your clothes for meeting the dogs. Our Alaskan Huskies are very friendly and love to cuddle! If you want, you may help harnessing the dogs ready for the sledding. When we leave the kennel, you can experience the stunning nature along with the sound of trotting huskies.
(Snowshoe)hike: If snowy, you will be introduced to the art of walking on snowshoes and will hear the history behind them. As we hike your guide will tell you all about the dramatic nature, winter by the fjord and the special culture particular to this area. When we meet each other again we will have some warm soup and bread together. Then, the groups swap activities and make their way back to the kennel.
After that we will go back to Flåm by boat, ending the tour back in the harbour where we started. If you would like to stay a night at Frønningen or if you want to go to Kaupanger instead of returning to Flåm, it is possible to customize the tour.
