Overview

Flakkan nature reserve and bird reserve in Høylandet was first protected in 1984. The area is an important wetland area and breeding ground for many birds. You may for example see many rare types of duck. There is also a lot of beaver in the area. The nature reserve is accessble from Kv 17 road and is a popular area for birdwatching and nature photography.

Øie nature reserve by lake Øyvatnet is a bird reserve, first protected in 1984. This is a wetland area with Red-throated Diver, mallard, Eurasian Widgeon, swans and tufted ducks, to mention a few. There is also crane in the area. Øie nature reserve is popular with birdwatchers and photographers.
