The Coastal Museum in Sogn and Fjordane is located in Florø. The museum is located in a vired coastal area connected by walking paths and bridges. The exhibitions at the museum show local boat types, fishing, shipping, the interior of a fisherman´s home at the beginning of the 20th century, local fauna, and one of the largest permanent oil exhibitions in the country.
Florø is a city with soul and commitment. The town started its history in the herring years, and was granted city status in 1860. Today Florø has grown to become an innovative, down-to-earth and compact city - a city of the future perfectly adapted to modern life.
