Imagine life as a trapper in Svalbard: the loneliness, the challenges of a beautiful but harsh landscape. Imagine experiencing the dark polar night in a small hunters cabin far away from other people. On this tour we will give you an insight into what made the trappers choose this life.
Learn about the trapper’s history
We start the hike from Adventdalen into Todalen. Along the way, the guide will introduce some of the techniques used to hunt polar foxes and polar bears. The hunting season started in the late fall, and the traps had to be checked throughout the winter. At the end of the trip we will serve you hot chocolate and marshmallows around the bonfire.
