Fossedalen

Fossedalen valley is an area of natural beauty on the north side of the Dalsfjord. You can walk up to Fossedalsfossen waterfall. Or perhaps you fancy a swim?

Fossedalen valley isn’t far from Dale in Sunnfjord. According to the 1910 census there were 22 people living on the roadless mountain farms in lower and upper Fossedal. The farms have now been abandoned but are still being maintained.

How to get to Fossedalen valley

In the spring of 2015, a new hiking trail was opened from the newly built Dalsfjord Bridge, so you can now walk from the carpark by the bridge to the valley area.
