The farm's history goes back hundreds of years. The family Transet bought it around 1950. Christ and Hans Petter took it from his parents in 1992, and with the acquisition were dairy cows, earth for grass and arable cultivation and forest. Milk cup production was completed in 2009. The two barns are today filled with ammeku and herd large and small counts about 100 animals.

In 2000 they decided to start planning for a new niche, agritourism, which in turn led to the construction of Bryggerhuset. The construction was based on the great effort and the process took some time. The brewery house at Frøtvedt was completed in 2004, with opening the same year. From then, they have worked full-time on the farm both.
