Frescohallen
The Fresco Hall is part of the old stock exchange building, which was built in 1861-82, and is considered one of Norway's national art treasures. The Fresco Hall is decorated with frescoes painted by Axel Revold in the years 1921-23 and the motifs in the frescoes are linked to Bergen's business life.
In the autumn of 2023, Frescohallen was named the world's best in the "historic buildings" category in the "Restaurant & Bar Design Awards ®" competition. The international recognition acknowledge the harmonious space, where the architects have preserved history while introducing modern elements such as the mirror installation and innovative chair design. The large windows and the natural light they provide are also quite unique.
The hall has undergone a major refurbishment and is now as a large all day restaurant. At the Fresco Hall you can have a coffee and cake, a drink or spend the whole evening with a full dinner. The food is local and fresh, with focus on seafood, grill and signature dishes based on sharing. Enjoy dining while listening to DJ sets that create a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
The glamour of a bygone age infused with a contemporary soul. That’s the Fresco experience! A privileged venue nestled in one of the most historic areas of Bergen.
