Overview

Ulveholtet and the municipal forest in Halden have in recent years been "discovered" by many hikers, and a lot of work has been put in place to make the area more accessible to all.

In Halden municipality forest Ulveholtet, it is possible to go several different tours of various lengths. At the parking lot there is an orientation board with information about the area, and a map where all the hiking trails are drawn.

From the parking lot to Fosserkoia there is an old tractor road. It is generally good trails in the area.

At the parking lot, Gruvehytta, Ulveholtet, Fosserkoia and at the crossroads there are signs showing the direction and distances in the terrain. All the trails are well marked with blue paint on the trees.

In the area there are two cabins that are open and can be used by all - Gruvehytta and Fosserkoia. The cabins at Ulveholtet can be rented by the municipality of Halden.
