Fru Haugans Hotel is situated in the famous old street Sjøgata in the centre of town, and has a very long tradition. Dating back more than 200 years, it is the oldest hotel in North Norway.
In 1794 a farmer's son and captain obtained royal consent to run a guesthouse and to engage in commerce. Mrs Ellen Haugan bought the hotel in 1885 and it has remained in the family ever since.
In the old and congenial lounges and buldings there is a special atmosphere. Salmon and trout fishing take place in the beautiful, spacious grounds.
After comprehensive building work, the hotel now stands fully restored with its 95 rooms, large conference centre, two restaurants, lounges and bar.
Mosjøen lies in the middle of Norway, serving as a main junction of routes at Helgeland, and ideal for setting out on daytrips to the coast and inland.
