Frugga holiday home is located in the fishing village Hovden, the westernmost point in the "Fairytale Municipality" Bø in Vesterålen. We are open all year long. The house is called “the Storehouse” by those who have lived in Hovden and had their lives and work here. Frugga holiday home provides the opportunity for peace and quietness, experiences close to nature and physical challenges if one wishes.
Frugga holiday home was completely restored in 2014, totaling 65 square meters. All furniture is new. The main floor (53 m2) has a shared living/kitchen area with a great view of the sea, two bedrooms with 4 beds and bathroom with heating cables, a washing machine and a dryer. There is also a loft with 2 beds. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, stove and oven and other equipment. There is cable TV and free WiFi. Linen and towels are included. Outside there is a terrace facing the south and west with outdoor furniture and a barbecue.
Frugga holiday home is a part of a two-house property in Hovden. The house faces the northwest and the sea, and provides a great view of the midnight sun during the summer and the northern lights in the winter, but also to the rough sea and rapid changes in the sky formations. Straight to the north lies the island Frugga. It is a nature reserve where puffins breed. Sea eagles often glide over the area and grouse reside on the property in the spring. Do not be surprised if there are moose, otters or weasels wandering between the houses. A small kitchen garden with herbs for the pleasure and use for our guests is under development. Hovden is an active fishing village with fish landing, especially for cod during the winter. The fish is dried on racks and later exported.
We may contact a local fisherman if you wish to go on fishing trips and local guides for mountain hiking. Near Hovden there are a variety of mountain hiking possibilities. The tough may go swimming from three beautiful beaches in the surrounding area.
