The bird mountain entitled "Fuglefjella" is well-known for its bustling wildlife with sea birds like the little auk to guillemots, gulls and fulmars.

The best Svalbard experience is waiting in the untouched, arctic wilderness – outside the city limits of Longyearbyen.

The bird mountain entitled “Fuglefjella” is well-known for its bustling wildlife with sea birds like the little auk to guillemots, gulls and fulmars.
We'll also be hiking in an area where you might run into the beautiful Svalbard rock ptarmigan, known for its pearly-white plumage during the winter season.

The trip begins as we pick you up by car in town and drive out through the cabin area of Vestpynten, to the bottom of Bjørndalen valley which is the starting point for the hike itself.
From there we hike into the valley – an area rich in flora and fauna, with a possible river crossing depending on the meltwater levels from the nearby glaciers.
After a few kilometers across relatively flat terrain, we can start hiking upwards towards the top of the plateau where we can enjoy a warm lunch while taking in the breathtaking view of Isfjorden in front of us.

We aim to provide our guests with natural magic in magical nature - leaving the wilderness as untouched and unscathed as we found it in the first place.
