ARCTIC LEGACY

Funken Bar is an intimate bar, situated by the upstairs fireplace at Funken Lodge. Funken Bar was Longyearbyen's first bar with mixed drinks and was opened on the sunny day in 1991. At that time the bar was fairly makeshift; the reception desk was used as a bar, and staff from different departments acted like bartenders. Fortunately, a lot has changed, but the good atmosphere and the delicious drinks are still there. This is a perfect place to have an aperitif before a better dinner at Funktionærmessen Restaurant.

When you sit down with the drink menu you will recognize several of the drinks, but with new names. The menu is inspired by people, companies or events that are of great importance to Svalbard. So have a chat with the bartender and learn a little about our island while you’re there!

LUNCH IN GREAT SURROUNDINGS

Funken Bar also has a small selection of lunch dished based on the same ingredients used in Funktionærmessen Restaurant. It is prepared by the same chefs and is of the same exquisite standard.

CHAMPAGNE AND WINE

In Funken Bar you will find an exceptionally good selection of champagne, and you can easily call it the world's northernmost champagne bar.
