Gagnås

Gagnås is the mountain area between Trollebotn and Seljordsdalen. Local legend says that there is a farm run by gnomes in this mountain. There are openings in the mountain walls from the Garvik side, and by Gjelstad. Hølje Dale`s sister, Gonill, was spirited by gnomes into their mountain farm and never returned. It is said that Hølje visited her once, which inspired Hølje Gonge to write a poem in 1860.
Halvor J. Sandsdalen, Seljord`s nationally acclaimed local poet also wrote a poem, "Etter eit menneske" about this.
