The grand scenery of Lofoten have inspired many artists through the years, but few are held in such high regard as Kaare Espolin Johnson (1907–1994). With his characteristic technique he portrayed the life along the coast, for many known through his illustrations to the novel The Last Viking by Johan Bojer. The Espolin Gallery houses a master within Norwegian art. Wander around in beautiful halls filled with Espolin’s work. See an impressive art collection and watch a beautiful film in which Espolin Johnson tells about his own work.

The gallery is located in Storvågan in Kabelvåg, a 10-minute drive from Svolvær.
It is a part of SKREI experience centre, that consists of the Lofoten Museum, the Lofoten Aquarium and the Espolin Gallery.
