Gamlestøga Cabins offers private houses for rent in the mountain area of Tyin-Filefjell. There are five cabins to choose from, one for 10 persons and four for 8 persons each.

Cabins
The big cabin ("storhytten") has 10 bed spaces in 6 bed rooms, a large kitchen, dining room for 35 people and a living room with a fire place and sofa space for 25 persons as well as a bath room with shower/WC and a sauna.

The other cabins feature 2 bed rooms with 4 beds (bunk beds) each, a kitchen, bathroom with shower/WC and a living room with a fire place.

Location
The compound is situated beautifully on old mountain farm land at 1000 m.a.s.l. on the shore of Lake Otrøvatnet in the mountain area of Filefjell which forms the divide between Eastern and Western Norway. There are great opportunities for hiking, mountaineering in Jotunheimen, fishing, cycling and in the winter cross-country (the groomed tracks pass 50 m away from the cabins) and downhill skiing.

Access
We try to keep the road to the cabins open during winter. But there are also parking possibilities at the skiing centre, and baggage transport by snowscooter to the cabins can be arranged. We also can provide food delivery on request.
