Gaupnetunet is a small and cosy hotel located in the centre of the village Gaupne, in a side arm of the Lustrafjord. We have 22 rooms, of which eight very recently renovated, all with private bathroom and TV. Gaupnetunet is situated only a few metres from the shops and services of the village, yet the area is quiet and the rooms look out on a tranquil river.
Gaupne is the centre of Luster Municipality, and a superb starting point for exploring the activities and attractions in the area. Located between three national parks, there are ample opportunities for guided glacier tours, kayaking excursions, rafting and other organized activities. There are also many marked trails in the surrounding mountains, where you can hike without a guide. The views of the fjord and some of the highest mountain peaks in Norway are simply spectacular.
In the reception, we can help with information about the activities and reservations.
The climate of this area around the Sognefjord is singular. In the spring, the fruit trees are in bloom while the tops of the mountains are still covered with snow. Summer is the busiest season in our region, as everyone tries to make the most of the long, light days of this short season. The amazing colours of the autumn landscape can take your breath away; it is the time to savour the local production of fresh fruit. Winter is a quiet time – the best for those who enjoy winter activities, lots of space and tranquillity.
