Glomfjord hotell

Glomfjord hotell is in the centre of Glomfjord, with short walking distance to shops, waterpark and alpine ski resort. The hotel is close to Kystriksveien/Fv17. The Hydro industrial museum is close by. The hotel offers a restaurant, a gym and SIXT car rental.  

Surrounding the hotel is a well kept historical building from the start of hydro-electric power in the early 1900's, now housing the industrial museum. About 3 km further south on Rv17 is the village Fykan. Here you will find marked hiking trails and the start of the mountain road that leads you 9 km into the Glomfjord mountains. From the parking, there are both T-marked and unmarked trails leading to grottoes and fishing lakes. 

Svartisen glacier is just a short drive to the south, along Kystriksveien (road 17). To get to Svartisen you need to take s short (but beautiful) boatride accross the fjord Holandsfjorden. A visit to the glacier will take you 3-5 hours, depending on how close you want to get. The hike from the dock to the edge of the glacier is about one hour. You can rent a bike to travel the distance faster. Ask the boat staff for bike rental.
