You can get a glimpse into the home of artist Anne Grimdalen. A mountain farm from the 1600s which today houses a museum with art gallery.
The sculptor Anne Grimdalen - best known for her work in decorating Oslo City Hall - grew up at Grimdalen. Today, Grimdalen is a protected country courtyard featuring houses from the middle ages and a sculptore house exhibiting works of Anne Grimdalen. Every summer, the exhibition of sculptures is supplemented with paintings by famous artists.
The Grimdal farm lies 630m above sea level. The museum comprises the original 10 farm buildings and corn mill together with their contents. The oldest building is from the late middle ages and the youngest from 1850. This farm is special because all of the buildings are in their original positions and are authentic.
There is a nature path from the farm which has information on plants and animals which are common to this area.
The Grimdal farm is 9 km from Dalen on riksveg 45 which goes from Dalen to Setersdal
