With an electric bike, this will be a fun and easy way to experience the nature and history of Haugesund. This is an experience that suits most people. The engine on the bike will do the biggest job and you will experience a lot in a short time.
Cruising with an electric bike in our beautiful nature and history (difficulty easy) With our local guide, the group will cruise through the center of Haugesund via one of Norway's longest shopping streets, Haraldsgata, up to Djupadalen, which is Haugesund's answer to 'Byheier'. Here we meet the beautiful nature and cycle the gravel road into the forest. Djupadalen is known for its bathing spots around Eivindsvannet and beautiful hiking trails. The engine of the bikes will do most of the work. Your task is to believe a little, keep your balance and enjoy the nature experience.
Furthermore, we cycle to Norway's only national monument Haraldstøtta which is in memory of Harald Hårfagre who united Norway into one kingdom in the year 872. Here we take time for pictures and storytelling. The support was unveiled in 1872 in connection with the millennium anniversary of the battle of Hafrsfjord, where Norway according to the saga was united into one kingdom. Furthermore, we cycle to the Coastal Path. It takes us past small lighthouses, bathing spots, hiking trails in beautiful nature and out to Kvalsvik to the exhibition The Rising Tide by Jason DeCaires Taylor. The four sculptures refer to the retired workhorse as it draws attention to our continuous dependence on fossil fuels, and the potential apocalyptic result of climate change this entails. The sculptures question; Who is responsible and where are we headed?
The trip then returns through the city center to the meeting place.

At Steinsfjellet, the view will be magical if the weather allows it. Small islands, ship traffic and the massive sea can take the breath away from most people. While we enjoy the view, the guide will convey Haugesund's history from Norway's birthplace in the Viking Age, to a herring town in the 19th century, to today's Haugesund where the industry is world class in terms of technology offshore.
