The fish species we will be fishing for are trout and carp. The trout population originates from a wild population of trout that has lived in this area for over 10,000 years and consists of fantastic trout of between 0.5-2 kilos, but there are also even larger specimens. The carp in these ponds were released 90-100 years ago. The carp were used as "farm animals" to graze on algae, plants and various vegetation so that crystal clear ice could be carved out without impurities when winter came. The ice from Nærsnes was known for its particularly high quality and was sent to the Queen of England, among other places. Carp is a very strong sport fish that really puts you to the test and is one of the world's most popular sport fishes.

In addition to fishing, I will also give you a tour of what remains of buildings and equipment from the wonderful days of ice fishing. In addition, the local history team has put up several great signs with exciting information about the ice operation, which we will take a look at.

I offer both half and full day tours. A half day extends over 6 hours, while a full day will extend over 12 hours. No matter what type of excursion you want, fishing equipment, guided fishing, food and drink and a tour are included in the price. On a half-day trip, only lunch is included, but on a full-day trip, lunch and dinner are included. My aim is that these trips should be as easy as possible for you as a customer and all you need to do is show up with what you want to take with you, I'll take care of the rest!

I have also renovated the so-called "Ice brakka", which is a building from 1890. Here, the ice workers rested and ate between battles. Now it has become a fishing hut where we can hide from the rain or eat a better dinner, or spend the night (up to 4 people). Other accommodation options in the area is Ramton Camping, a fantastic campsite with a range of facilities.

Season: April - October

Prices:

Half day (7 hours) NOK 1750 per person

Full day (14 hours) NOK 3,500 per person
