Join a local guide on a hike to the spectacular "Himakånå". Immerse yourself in the elements, pure Norwegian nature and breathtaking view.
This is an exclusive tour set for no more than 14 guests. If the group is more than 4-5 people, a second guide will join you to ensure that everybody can walk to Himakånå in their own pace.
Your journey begins at the cruise terminal.
A bus or car will take you to Nedstrand into one of the fjords, passing the small communities and beautiful landscape. The trip will take approximately 1 hour. While passing Fjords and mountains, your guide will tell you about the life and history of the people of Haugesund.
Upon arrival at Nedstrand, soak in the surroundings of the cozy village, Hindervåg. You pick up our "Matpakke" at a local grocery store. Then you set off on the hike up to Himakånå, 357 meters above sea level. The walk is around 2.2 km, a steep walk (gravel path), but the group will take it slowly. An element of fitness is recommended due to the steep and uneven terrain. The guides adjust to the group's condition accordingly. The walk takes about one hour each way.
Once you reach the summit, it's the perfect time for pictures of the panoramic views. Himakånå is one of Norway's most popular "selfie spots"! Here you will rest and enjoy your "matpakke"( a light typical Norwegian lunch), taking in the breathtaking mountain and fjord surroundings, before you head back down to Nedstrand.
If you prefer, you can skip the hike and stay in Nedstrand; our guide will show you different options for activities in and around the village. Among other things, the region's largest climbing park is located in Nedstrand.
