Guided hike to Lundeskaret - Fjærland

Hiking to Lundeskaret with a guide

This amazing hike takes you up the steep cleft called Lundeskaret, and into the Jostedalsbreen National Park

We start the hike from the parking lot by the main road (number 5), just north of the Fjærland Tunnel. The trail was upgraded in 2016, by Sherpa's who made stone steps up the steep cleft. The trail was originally made in 1906 by locals from Jølster.

We spend 1-1,5 hours going up the cleft. On the top the terrain gets gentler and we can choose different options where we go next. The traditional choice is going to the front of Marabreen Glacier, where we have glacier view in the one direction and panorama view of the Lake Kjøsnesfjorden the other way.
