Guided kayak tour from Stokmarknes

Join us for a memorable kayak adventure, starting from Stokmarknes. Get ready to experience the mighty nature and wildlife of Vesterålen while moving silently across the arctic waters. Vesterålen is a paradise for sea-kayaking!

The tour is easy and does not require any prior kayaking experience. As your safety is our highest priority, our guides will begin with a safety briefing followed by some kayaking technique tuition to help you manage the kayak in the best possible way. When you feel safe and ready, we start kayaking towards an island called Risøya, located close to shore. Here the beaches have white sands and the waters are crystal clear. During the tour, your guides will tell you about the cultural and natural history of the area. They will also supply you with information about conservation efforts, which is at the heart of everything we do. On your way towards the island, you have a great chance of encountering different wildlife species, such as sea birds, eagles or seals. You might catch sight of life beneath the sea surface, and even fish some of the local delicacies yourself. Arriving at the island, we will go ashore at one of the beaches. Here you can enjoy your lunch and we will provide hot beverages such as coffee, cacao and tea. After lunch, we will leave the island behind and return to Stokmarknes. If the weather is good, we will paddle a different route back.

Want to make the experience even better?

Bring your own camera or mobile phone to take photos. We have waterproof bags for safe keeping.

Your guides will also shoot pictures during the tour with a mobile phone, these can be transferred to you afterwards.

Do you need food and drinks on tour?

For NOK 295 it is possible to rent a backpack that includes local food, hot and cold beverages.

Important to know

To get a good experience it is important that you feel safe, dry and warm. Remember, the temperature is lower at sea compared to on land. It is therefore crucial to have warm and waterproof clothing. You will not be allowed to participate on the tour without correct clothing.

When you are kayaking, it will drip and splash from you paddle. You should therefore bring some dry clothes in a backpack a long with some food and drinks to secure a good experience.
