Join us on this amazing nature experience, a guided kayak trip around Øygarden islets outside Bergen. Transport from the Tourist Information and lunch is included.

During this beginner level tour, you will experience coastal wildlife, hear stories about local cultural and natural history, and enjoy delicious food made with locally-sourced ingredients. This tour is the best medicine for your body and soul!

This tour allows you to safely experience the local islets around Bergen with the expertise of a local guide. You do not need any kayaking experience as we will provide instruction in safety and rescue techniques.

Out among the islets there is plentiful birdlife. If you look down through the crystal clear waters you will see small crabs, shrimps and maybe a salmon jumping beside your kayak, if you look up you may see a eagle!

During the tour we will stop for a rest for about half an hour on one of the pretty beaches. You will get served a delicious local lunch of sandwiches with smoked salmon, egg and salad, and apple juice from a local farm which you can enjoy when you relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

Lunch is included and you can choose between meat or vegetarian sandwiches when you make a booking.

This tour gives you a taste of nature and will show you that you can safely manage a new experience.

Dress for outdoor activity, wind/rainjacket, and some waterproof pants. We have for loan if you do not have.

Min age: ​​​​​8 years old

No prior kayak experience needed! Simple paddle techniques and safety instructions will be given by our guide. Suitable for anyone above the age of 8 years old.

You will paddle mostly in double sea kayaks, which are really stable on the water. We have 2 single sea kayaks available for more experienced paddlers.

Duration:
5 hours in total, included transport. Normally 2-2.5 hrs on the water. The complete tour distance is 5-14 kilometers, depending on the group and weather conditions.

Departure point:
The guide will meet you outside the entrance to the Tourist Information at 09:30. We return to the same place around around 14:15-14:30. The driving time is around 40 minutes from Bergen city center.

The tour start from our base at Syltøy at around 10.30. If you like to drive to Syltøy with your own car, please let us know in advance.

Booking: 
The tour can be booked on this website or at the Tourist Information in Bergen, latest 20:30 the day before. 
(Any bookings later that this must be done by telephone. Please note that there is limited capacity on this tour).

Cancellation policy:
If you cancel within 48 hours of  the tours departure from the Tourist Information, you will receive a full refund. In case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the departure of the tour, no refund will be given.
