Guided kayak trip in the Haldenkanalen

A kayak trip on the Haldenkanalen is an experience that offers varied nature, from sleepy rivers to beautiful lakes, islands and wilderness. On the tour you will pass through historic locks that have been in use for over a hundred years!

Starting in Ørje, our experienced guides will take you safely through rivers, lakes and locks as well as show you the way to the hidden gems.

We also offer transport from Oslo. Here it is possible to jump on and off along the way.

Day trip or overnight stay

We make arrangements for short and longer trips. If you have limited time you can join a day trip, if you want to explore more, you can join an overnight trip in shelters or sleep in a hammock. During the trip, it will be possible to visit cafes and enjoy the sun while we paddle through a diverse range of birds and wildlife.

All necessary equipment included

A guided trip with us includes all the necessary equipment such as quality kayaks, oars, life jackets and maps, so you can focus on enjoying the experience. We also offer simple arrangements for cooking, either with a fire or primus. You must bring your own equipment for accommodation.

The locks

There are several historic locks through the Haldenkanalen. You can choose to paddle through these, or you can carry the kayak around. In any case, it is an experience to see the locks in action.
