One of the most popular mountainpeaks in the southern part of the Lyngen peninsula, is Daltind. Reaching 1533 meters above sealevel, this peak offers one of the best views of the area and makes for a fantastic day out. Join a local guide on a hike to the peak.
On the Lyngen peninsula you can find everything from sharp snowcovered moutainpeaks and ridges to mellow open valleys shaped by the glaciers that still reside here. With most of the peninsula having the status of Nature protection area the impact from human activity is very low and gives a sense of serenity to this otherwise wild place.
We at Lyngen outdoor experiences are dedicated to giving our visitors unique and unforgettable experiences in this very special part of Norway.
One of the most popular mountainpeaks in the southern part of the Lyngen peninsula, is Daltind. Reaching 1533 meters above sealevel, this peak offers one of the best views of the area and makes for a fantastic day out. In the winterseason the mountain provides for toptourskiing well into the month of may, with plenty of skiers making their long way into the valley and up the northern face of the mountain. However, in the summerseason the better route for summiting this mountain starts at the village of Furuflaten and brings us through the forest and onto the open plateau beneath Daltind. As we slowly start to traverse the side of this mountain, which is part of the chain known as Njallavarri, the green plateau with its marshlands and small lakes will flatten beneath us as we gain heightmeters towards the top. Reaching the summit will give us a uniqe view to Lyngsdalen, the valley leading to the edge of the large glaciersystem below Jiehkkevarri. And also a view to the glaciers themselves surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Lyngen Alps.
