Participate in a guided and adventurous trip to the copper mines from the 1700s at Mokk Farm During the tour, the hosts will convey the history of the mines. When reaching the mines you will enjoy the beautiful view of Steinkjer, Verdal and Blåfjella - Skjækerfjella National Park. From the farm, we follow the same path that the miners used 300 years ago. We get a historical insight into the hardships and challenges of that time and how mining was conducted. The trip inclines steadily 2 km up to the mine mountain. We receive a little refreshment before we climb up to one of the mine openings. With the aid of flash lights, we explore the mine shafts that have remained unchanged since the mining days. The mine tunnels show clear traces of all the work that was done by hand, and we see the play of colors in the oxidized copper. After admiring the stunning views from the mine opening, we head down to the farm again.
