Bare mountain, steady incline and some flats. 950-1315 m.a.s.l
The whole hike runs through beautiful mountain terrain. Cross the river at Imlan and follow the trail southwest. Steady incline, but some flat parts. Great views most of the hike, especially from the lakes Nordre Rantetjern to Øyvatn and at the mountain Hallingnatten, the highest peak in Nes municipality. On clear days you can see from the mountain Hardangerjøkulen in the west to the mountains Hallingskarvet, Reineskarvet and Hemsedalsfjellet and Skogshorn in the east. Beyond that you can catch a glimpse of the mountain area Jotunheimen. The mountain Gaustadtoppen’s characteristic shape towers in the south.
