Harahorn was finished during the winter of 1992 with 11 buildings and 25 guest rooms. Some of the houses are restored Halling cottages, and some are recently built, but with respect for the original. During spring 1995 Harahorn was expanded with the Syningen and Tinden cottages, making a total of 34 guest rooms, with beds for 75 people. In 1996 a copy of an old stave church such as large farms often had in earlier times, was built, and this chapel makes Harahorn a complete royal estate.
Harahorn is located in Grøndalen valley, 15 minutes by car from central Hemsedal. In Grøndalen we have our “own” ski run, Solheisen (the Sun lift), which is a small, sunny and child-friendly ski run, also offering challenging hills and areas that are perfect for freeride skiing. During summer Grøndalen also has a 9 hole golf course and tennis courts.
