Gentle route in forest terrain from Dalseter to Hattdalseter, leading along the Peer Gynt Route (opt. 1) or via Store Steinen (opt. 2) and through the forest back to the starting point.
Opt. 1: Along the Peer Gynt Route. Climb uphill along the Peer Gynt Route from Dalseter, and stay on this road all the way to Hattdalseter – approx. 6 km.
Opt. 2: Via Store Steinen. Climb uphill along the Peer Gynt Route, and stay on this road until you reach a sign for Brennsetra. Continue towards Hattdalseter. After approx. 1 km you will reach a sign for Store Steinen. Follow the sign for Hattdalseter. After approx. 500 m you will reach a sign for Gråståkån.
From Gråståkån and onwards to Hattdalseter, the route is the same for both opt. 1 and opt. 2 as it continues towards Hattdalseter along the gentle climbs and slopes of the Peer Gynt Route.
By the sign marked Hattdalseter, just before you reach the mountain farm, turn left towards Dalseter. The trail will then lead through slightly hilly forest terrain. After approx. 5 km, you will reach a sign marked Sletthamna. Continue to follow the sign for Dalseter. An old mountain track will take you past Øvre Dalseter, and then back to Dalseter.
Detours to Langtjønna, Merratjønna and Ronjaløypa are possible along the way.
For separate route descriptions, please contact Dalseter or Ruten.
An excellent trip both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
The trail is machine-groomed, and is double tracked all the way.
Parts of the trail along the Peer Gynt Route are very wide, and offer the opportunity for both classic and freestyle cross-country skiing.
